Isn’t that what you want to say to anyone who’s not ready to understand you and your standpoint? I am sure yes! But then, just think, what if the person also wants to say the same thing to you.
Confusing?
Well, I was just trying to say that its all about understanding the other person’s perspective, stepping in his/her shoes…. And you’ll see the most complicated conundrums will be deciphered in a tick. I know I let out a lot of ‘gyaan’ but then that’s how I am…love me or leave me
Jokes apart, in recent past (last 3 months maybe), some incidents and experiences have reinforced my belief in the abovesaid thing. Try it for yourself. I know its tough to even think about trying to understand the other person’s perspective when you’re yourself mad at that person but give it a conscious try..and you’ll not be disappointed, I promise!
on Richard Feynman’s black-board on the day of his death.
Hmm…. that’s your perspective
Well it means the same as what you wrote (stepping into others’ shoes). I don’t think it is a different perspective at all.
Uh ok… may be I didn’t understand it correctly
I did not bother to elaborate, which ofcourse was not correct.
I just like how it is put. It applies to everything, also to things in science that way. As people have a tendency to reject claims, emotions and thoughts with ease.
Given your post I had assumed you would like it.
The incorrect assumption reminds me of another “vintage” quote:
Quoting Freeman Dyson FRS
In desperation I asked Fermi whether he was not impressed by the agreement between our calculated numbers and his measured numbers. He replied, “How many arbitrary parameters did you use for your calculations?” I thought for a moment about our cut-off procedures and said, “Four.” He said, “I remember my friend Johnny von Neumann used to say, with four parameters I can fit an elephant, and with five I can make him wiggle his trunk.” With that, the conversation was over.
Oh….now I know
Thanks for explaining!
